Bian Zhongyun's children mourn the death of their mother. On 5 August 1966 Bian was beaten to death with sticks by her students and red guards, after accusing her of counter-revolutionary revisionism. She was one of the first fatalities of the Cultural Revolution (Beijing, China 1966)
