'Crushing Defeat' For Russia, Belarus as FIDE Votes To Maintain Sanctions

Russian and Belarusian chess teams will remain banned, FIDE decided at the General Assembly in Budapest on Sunday. Instead, delegates voted in favor of a motion to consider lifting some restrictions.
