Franca Viola (1963) Italian woman who became famous in the 60s for refusing a "rehabilitating marriage" with her victimiser after being kidnapped and raped. She was one of the first Italian women to publicly refuse this tradition and, with her family, successfully appealed to law to prosecute him.
